Natalie Rowthorn
Natalie Rowthorn, 23, is a proud Clevelander who is still processing the five stages of grief of her post-graduate life. In May 2016, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Indiana University’s new Media School. And yes, she is still quite bitter about the merger. She double-minored in French and international studies, with a focus on international human rights and law, specifically pertaining to gender violence and freedom of the press.
During her time at IU, she worked as the Opinion Editor of the student-run newspaper, the Indiana Daily Student, as well as a columnist, reporter and photographer. Opinion-based writing is easily her favorite style of journalism, and believes all columnists should consider themselves journalists and should rightfully be treated as such – when earned.
Natalie loves playing field hockey, traveling and always having chocolate within arms reach. She spent several months working for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in Cleveland until that obviously ended in November. Today, however, she spends her time on the job hunt and resisting the urge to engage with trolls on Twitter.
